For a new organization, Red Lens Photography Club has already achieved a lot. From winning the Most Innovative Booth award during its first time of joining in the College Organization Recruitment Week and by holding a photo exhibit featuring Bedan culture and tradition, this new organization is making waves not only inside the campus, but outside as well.
These bunch of passionate artists hone their craft through constant training only from the best. The “Learning from the Pros Photography Workshop Series” with professional photographers; Bobut Meru and Tilak Hettige serving as their mentors was the highlight of Red Lens’ training for its first year.
Not to mention, the always educational and fun photowalks that the group holds once every two months definitely encourage its members to develop their skills more. Red Lens also served the San Beda community as they covered approximately 95% of school activities both inside and outside the walls of San Beda.
With their significant contribution to the San Beda community despite being a probationary organization, Red Lens definitely deserved to be awarded as the 9th best organization in San Beda for school year 2009-2010.
With the passion of its members, and their determination to continually serve San Beda thru their love for the art of photography, we will surely see greater things from this organization. [More Photos]

Facebook and Twitter are today’s leading social media website with their fast growing online community. We all know that these two services can connect people around the world. With the popularity of Facebook and Twitter, everything is possible in meeting long lost friends and even meeting new friends.
With this, Red Lens came up with the solution to integrate REDLENS.ORG to Facebook and Twitter. Bedans from all over the world can now be easily informed about what is happening inside and outside the campus as well as in Red Lens.
Being a Fan of Red Lens in Facebook and Follower in Twitter is advantageous to our patrons for they can stay connected with Red Lens.
RedLens.ORG offers wide array of features like the Web Gallery in which members can show their works of art and to have an exchange of ideas through its commenting system but only registered members can use this commenting system.
But in today’s generation, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! Through the effort of the Web Master and the software that was introduced by “DISQUS”, unregistered members can now Comment on articles and photos using Facebook and Twitter accounts as their user login access. No more hassles in filling up long applications and no more waiting for a verification email. Users can easily login to RedLens.ORG and post comments using these two top online community websites.
Integration of RedLens.ORG to Facebook and Twitter can improve discussions among Red Lens Photographers as they can exchange ideas and tips through the comment feature. Thanks to the hardworking programmers and engineers of “DISQUS” for making everything possible.
Feel free to try it now in this post!

During the College Organizational Recruitment Week, Red Lens put up a Dark Room Inspired booth featuring Red Lens’ works of arts and Red Lens’ camaraderie. The main feature of the booth is the demonstration of the “Camera Obscura”. The booth can be transformed into a huge camera obscura so that the audience can experience the feeling of being inside a camera after being inside a dark room.
The camera obscura (Latin for ‘dark room’; literally ‘darkened chamber’) is an optical device that projects an image photography. The device consists of a box or room with a hole in one side. Light from an external scene passes through the hole and strikes a surface inside where it is reproduced, upside-down, but with color and perspective preserved. The image can be projected onto paper, and can then be traced to produce a highly accurate representation. of its surroundings on a screen. It is used in drawing and for entertainment, and was one of the inventions that led to
Using mirrors, as in the 18th century overhead version (illustrated in the Discovery and Origins section below), it is possible to project a right-side-up image. Another more portable type is a box with an angled mirror projecting onto tracing paper placed on the glass top, the image being upright as viewed from the back.
As a pinhole is made smaller, the image gets sharper, but the projected image becomes dimmer. With too small a pinhole the sharpness again becomes worse due to diffraction. Some practical camera obscuras use a lens rather than a pinhole because it allows a larger aperture, giving a usable brightness while maintaining focus. [More Photos]
